Maori wont be getting any special treatment
over the partial sale of state owned assets.
The Government is about to embark on a week-long consultation round
with Maori around proposed law changes
for the partial sale of Genesis Energy, Meridian,
Mighty River Power and Solid Energy.
It says it will retain 51% ownership.
Waikato-Tainui and Ngai Tahu
have signalled their interest in the assets
but the Government won't be giving them any special deal.
Nine hui will be held from the 8th - 15th of next month.
This map shows you exactly where the hui will be held.
The process will be led by Bill English and Tony Ryall
and facilitated by Sir Wira Gardiner.
