David McCall wrote in, "Hey, David, I noticed Louis seems to be bringing up punching people
in the face pretty frequently. What's up with that?" Louis, is there something going on?
Are you particularly angry lately? Are you going back to the ways of junior high?
Louis: No. No, I don't think it is happening frequently.
David: All right.
Louis: I would disagree with this person.
David: Well, there's Louis's answer.
On the Nebraska nuclear power plant risking shutdown: "What would they say if this turned
into an accident? How would the people who knew explain why we didn't hear about it?
Or would they just keep quiet, and if they do, is the world really any better than it
was in the 50s and 60s? This is really scary, especially considering they actually got the
government involved to shut down the airspace." No video, no news story. It's completely clear
why the plant got the FAA involved in shutting down the airspace, Louis. No question about
it.
Louis: Right.
David: On the Obama impersonator escorted off-stage: "I liked some of this stuff, but
they only pulled him off because they didn't like it when he was attacking Republicans.
And he shouldn't have been removed."
And, "I heard more of this, and it seemed to me they thought about taking him off when
he made jokes about Mitt Romney, their 2012 savior. Some parts were funny. Too bad Republicans
don't know how to laugh at themselves. They certainly know how to laugh at Obama, that's
for sure."
And on when will an atheist really be able to be elected to major public political office:
"Atheists or people that aren't even religious won't be elected unless people start being
open-minded and less selfish to their own religion. It's quite sad that people actually
think just because they're Muslim, Jewish, whatever, they won't do as good of a job as
a Christian president. We have a long way to go."
And lastly, "It was only 47 years ago that the Civil Rights Act was passed, and now we
have a president who is half-black in the White House. No one would have thought in
1964 this was possible, so it's not such a far stretch to say an atheist candidate, say,
within 25 years could win the presidency." What do you think, Louis? Atheist president
within 25 years?
Louis: At least.
David: I think it's possible. I think things could change pretty quickly when it comes
to religion. I don't know exactly what the catalyst will be, but I think in pretty short
order, we could have a major change about how religion is interpreted as part of politics.
Louis: I hope so.
David: We'll see you on the bonus show. Profanity on planes and Palin quits again. See you in
a few days.
