The time is nearly eight-forty on this beautiful Sunday morning, 51 degrees as we look at Janesville.
And today we start a new segment on the morning show weekend live called alternative healing;
and we are joined now by dr. john Haase of walnut grove chiropractic to talk about how
new technology is revolutionizing medicine, and how you can get healthy. And you've been
in Madison for twenty-five years, practicing your trade, as a chiropractor, and new technology
is really changing the way that you treat people, and this machine right here is evidence
of that. What is this machine?
This emits a laser, actually it's an array of lasers, which penetrate the tissue with
photons very deeply, and that's where the magic occurs.
And how did this all start, what's the history of this type of thing?
Well, originally, NASA wanted to try to grow plants in space, and so they couldn't do it
with other forms because they required a lot of heat. So what they did was they took a
laser and they tried that and then they went to LED array, and what it did-what they found
out is the plants grow two to three times faster. So, they said hmm that's interesting,
now lets try to do that to humans, and they found out the same type of reaction occurs
with tissue regeneration and wound healing.
Which is you said that some people are using this for their eye wrinkles and for anti-aging.
Is it doing that too, with this type of stuff?
Well it increases the cell uh collagen fibers are formed faster with the utilization of
this, with the addition of course of it takes away a lot of pain, and reduces inflammation,
so that combination has been extremely helpful for my profession.
This is kinda like right out of star trek. You know, the next generation where they have
those little devices that they shoot people with, and it helps them heal. So you're gonna,
you're gonna demonstrate this on me.
Well I'd like to, I mean here's a handheld device, extremely powerful, you can see the
photons of light go right through the tissue, or we have-
Do that again
Yeah of course
Can you-can you see your bones through there?
Well you can see quite a bit of the tissue as you go right through.
Huh, so this is actually healing me? is this what this is doing? Haha if I were injured,
or-
Yes, there-all of your cells have a light sensitivity. It strikes that, what happens
is you have these uh a cascade of effects, which are very healing. In the tissues, the
powerhouse of the cell, which is mitochondria, starts producing, much more energy and in
fact you get healing two or three times faster.
Okay, how do you turn this off it's kinda blinding me. okay there we go. So is this
the same thing only larger?
Little different, there's a lot of different ways that these are applied both with combination
of different types of light, but they all emit about the same frequency. And this particular
unit, will be able to start it-no, there we go. Yeah, so we can apply it to my hand or
your hand and the interesting thing about it is it only takes about a minute and a half
because each second of this is equivalent to about standing for one full minute in the
sun, you'll pick up about the same radiation. So for instance, if I'm doing this for one
minute, that'd be as if you stood with 60 minute under full sun; however, the sun wouldn't
penetrate as deep as this. So this penetrates very deeply into the cells, and then that'll
carry it throughout the system or the bloodstream. So, great for carpal tunnel, great for injuries
to the neck, cause it reduces inflammation and pain, great for low back of course we
use it with our, all the time with our disk problems and so it's just an adjunctive therapy
that's fabulous. And it doesn't produce any pain for the patient, no heat-
Yeah I don't feel anything, no heat.
It's great for diabetics then of course, so it's wonderful and you won't and so it's,
it's just this simple, and just this fast, and just this safe. Safe, natural healing.
So is it something- can you get a tan with it too? No?
Different frequency but very good yeah that's but that would be wonderful wouldn't it?
That's a question my wife would ask.
Yeah, yeah, so we can stop there if you want but it only takes about a minute and a half
and people feel the effects right away.
Is this an expensive procedure to get for people? Is it covered by insurance at all?
Yes in some areas it is and sometimes it's not, but it is like any other cutting edge
technology in which that the insurance companies are considering whether they're gonna pay
it now, and as the demand increases, certainly it will be covered by insurance.
Well that's really cool, and I'm sure in the future it's going to get cheaper and cheaper
like every other technology out there-
Yes, absolutely, right now you have to have an FDA cleared device and of course and the
technology is somewhat expensive but it will get cheaper.
Okay, and if anybody wants more information walnut grove chiropractic has two locations
