Hi, I'm Michelle Renee from the Michelle Renee Makeup Artist Group here in Tampa, Florida.
And on behalf of Expert Village, we're gonna show you how to apply makeup on women of color.
Now, our next step is really gonna complete the eye. With women of color I've notice that
often times their lashes are not as long as they could be or because of the texture of
their hair it curls up or curls back. I'd like to use false lashes on women of color.
So, the first step that you want to do is take your lash out and measure the eye. So,
what we're gonna do is without glue, just place it across the lid. These lashes look
just about the right length, but I'm gonna at the edge I'm just gonna cut off a couple
of strands. I'm gonna go ahead and get them in the shape of the eye. These look like the
perfect length. Then with the eye lash glue along the edge of the lashes, I'm gonna place
the glue. After you have it completely on, just wait a couple of seconds for it to get
tacky. I like to put a little extra glue at the corners, so the lashes don't fall off.
I'm gonna use a tool to help me place the lashes. So, I'm gonna get it and place it
on the eye. Now once they're on the eye, get the point of tweezers or a brush and just
slightly move the lashes. I also use the eye liner as a guide to where I place the lashes.
The lashes are set and all we have to do right now is wait for them to dry. Shevon's lashes
are now dry. I'm gonna have you keep them closed. When you do open them, the corners
slightly might be stuck. So, you just want to help Shevon open up her eyes if it's a
little stuck. "Go ahead and open up." So, now we've got the lashes and we've got the
fake lashes on. Our last step is mascara, I call this the seat belt for your lashes.
The mascara is gonna fuse them together, lock them together and then that is gonna help
them last throughout the night. This makes them look more natural. It blends in your
real lashes, where you don't an obvious end to your fake ones and your real ones. And
there we have our lashes.
