I am so worried about what is going to happen when I have this baby.
Ask for an epidural. That’ll ease the pain.
I’m not worried about the pain. I’m worried about all the other things, like getting sick.
Hospital infections aren’t common, at least not during childbirth anymore.
I’m afraid of throwing up during labor. Will I vomit during labor?
Some women become nauseous during the labor transition. That is the time when a woman’s
labor starts, and the contractions in the abdomen can compress on the stomach, forcing
food out.
Oh, gosh, that will be so embarrassing.
Don’t worry about vomiting during labor. The doctors know this can happen, and they
are on hand to clean it all up.
I really don’t want to get sick like that during labor, on top of the pain.
If you are afraid of vomiting during labor, you can ask the doctor to give you an anti-emetic
to prevent it, along with the pain medication.
Is all of that medication safe?
Yes, it is. But people sometimes react to the morphine in the epidural and throw up
as a result.
I’d like to try an all natural solution instead.
If you think that you are in early labor, stop eating. If you stay hydrated but have
no food in your system, you’re less likely to throw up.
I’m going to be induced.
Don’t eat the day before you are scheduled to be induced. But you do need to stay hydrated.
The pain, the blood, the sweat, possibly vomit. What else could happen?
When you are in the later part of the labor, pushing the baby out, you’re likely to poop
as well. You’re pushing to hard in the vaginal area to get the baby out that any poo is likely
to come out, too.
This is so disgusting.
Wait until the baby is born, leaking from every orifice. Then you get to see the baby’s
poo change colors over the first few days -
I want to stay pregnant!
But then you don’t get the cute baby at the end!
