Hey Guys. Welcome to another episode of Tasty Sauces dot com. I am your Host Billy D.
and tonight we are going to take a look at two all natural salsas.
Now the reason we are looking at all natural salsas today is because I actually
just turned thirty one, starting to get a little bit older and my metabolism isn't quite
working as fast as it used to. So I have been looking at different foods that are a
little bit better for you
and
today we've got
Kvvan all-natural hot sauce
This is a honey apple salsa
So I am very curious to try this one out
So
i was looking at the reviews on amazon dot com
It had 14
total customer views but all of them were 5 out 5 stars. Everyone was just raving about this stuff
so i figured you know let's give it a shot, it looks like some good stuff and
it actually started off from a former NFL player Reggie Kelly. He played in
the NFL for over 10 years played with the Falcons for 3 years and
the Bengals for 8 years after that.
But he decided after football
he was going to get into the the food business so
he has a variety of products like salsas and barbecue sauces that he sells
we're definitely going to take a look at that one
and on the right here we got Frog Ranch All Natural Salsa
This stuff was actually founded by
2, it said on their website they were hippies and it looks like they love the
frogs
because 5% of all proceeds will actually go towards amphibian
research
The company actually started off in 1994 in Ohio.
And
one unique thing about there salsas is that they use Hungarian peppers along
with jalapeno peppers. i've never had one of those but I am curious to see how it tastes.
Let's go ahead and jump right in
It smells pretty good. I smell a little spice.
It is definitely a chunkier salsa.
Very chunky
It is honey apple salsa so let's give it a shot
definitely see some chunks of tomatoes in there, some peppers, spices, and onions in there
That is good.
Its got a real sweet taste. I wasn't expecting that
much sweetness
but its also got a little spice to it
Umm, that is good.
super sweet
So chunky it is hard to even pick up.
Now
as far as spice
not really detecting that much
it says it is the hot variety but i guess the sweetness kind of overpowers it.
But if I had to rate it on the spiciness scale
1 to 10
I probably give it a 3 or 4 on spiciness. it's not too spicy.
But
for my personal preference scale (1 to 5), this stuff is super delicious
I probably give it a 4.5 out of 5.
Now, moving on to the Frog Ranch Salsa. Its another chunky
all natural
its got a nice smell
definitely smell the peppers
you can see some big tomatoes. This one is actually a little bit runnier
than that last stuff.
Let's look at some of these ingredients they have on here.
you got vine ripened tomatoes, pickled peppers (that's the Hungarian peppers) and jalapenos
they got vinegar, salt, fresh onions and parsley.
Let's give it a little taste test.
Not detecting much heat although it is the mild version
so not expecting too much heat but I definitely taste those
vine ripened tomatoes
it's got a decent flavor. If it was in front of me, I would definitely eat some of it.
But not
not the best stuff I have ever had. I would probably give this one a 3.5 out of 5
stars
and then as far as
spicy rating since this is a medium there's really not very much heat to it. I would probably give it a
2 or 3 on the spicy rating
But there you have it
If you guys have tried it definite let me know what you think
in the comments below
And until next time
I'll see you guys later.
