What’s going on everybody this is Jack Jenkins from jack-jenkins.com
and today we are. Welcome to the third tutorial on HTML and CSS.
Today we are going to be learning about text formatting tags.
Alright, as you noticed I ripped everything out of the tags to get a fresh start.
First just put something in-between the [paragraph] tags.
The first formatting tag we are going to be learning is the bolding tag.
There are two different ways to bold text.
The first one is b. [HTML] is an incredibly hard language you know.
It’s very cryptic. Save it, run in ie, hello world.
The second way is putting in the strong tag.
They both do exactly the same thing; just one of them is longer.
(Mumble). There you go. Same thing just takes longer.
The second type of tag were going to talk about is the italics tag.
And of course it’s just a simple “I”.
Second way of doing it is by putting “em”. I’m not really talkative today, geesh.
Alright the third type of tag we are going to be learning is the sub tag, S-U-B.
What it stands for is the subscript. It’s mostly used for like chemistry.
For instance H sub 2 Sub 0. Save it, run in ie, H2O.
Here’s a little fun fact. If you take out the dash and keep it as sub sub.
It keeps descending and if you keep doing that it’ll keep going and going, it’s pretty cool
[Next] is the “sup”, S-U-P tag. There mostly used in like dates.
For instance today is September, 13 sub 13 sub. Save, run in ie. (mumble)
The last type of thing I want to talk to you about is comments.
Comments are used when you’re working with people and when you’re
using more cryptic languages such as php or even ruby or somthing but you can still use it.
In fact I have an example.
The foo fighters use comments to hide there symbol on all there sites.
So you can do cool stuff like that. So the comment is <!-- to end it -->.
And this can [de]cend many different paragraphs. Save it, run ie.
You still won’t see anything. However type outside of the tag. Save it, run in ie, you’ll see just that.
So that was a pretty short tutorial today, but to be honest I am extremely tired as you can hear.
So see you next Tuesday.
