(Kristine) Hi, I’m Kristine with Clearly the Best. Thanks for joining us.
(Monica) And I’m Monica and today’s topic is Bend It, Curve It, Stamp It. We’re going to
show you how to manipulate our stamp images to create new designs.
(Kristine) That’s absolutely right. Now this is something you cannot do with your
old-fashioned wood and rubber stamps. But thanks to clear My Acrylix® stamps,
making stamp sets work for your projects instead of the other way around, it really
is a breeze. So I’m going to show you how to do this. Okay, Monica? (Monica) Awesome.
(Kristine) Now I’ve got one of our stamp sets here, it’s called the Frame It Up set and it’s
got a lot of these really cute frames. I’m going to be working with this oval frame.
You can see that it just peels right off its carrier sheet, I’ll move that out here. (Monica) I love this...
(Kristine) Now I can just drop it right on the block and it makes a great oval.
You can see what it looks like normally. You can see the cute card that we’ll be making today. (Monica) So cute.
(Kristine) Isn’t that darling? When life gives you lemons, pucker up! (Monica) I love it. (Laughing)
(Kristine) And these adorable lemon shapes that I’ve stamped right here are actually
made from that wonderful oval frame. (Monica) Oh, so creative.
(Kristine) how even my ink coverage is. And then I just press on a nice
(Kristine) Isn’t that cute? It’s so easy to do. Now, I’m going to peel that back off
off the stamp and what I’m going to do, is I’ve got a little picture of a lemon (Monica) Smart...
(Kristine) Just cut from a magazine. I’ll put it underneath and use it as my guide.
(Monica) Clear blocks! Love the clear blocks, you can see exactly where you got it.
(Kristine) I’m not fussy about it. I know, like could I, could I do this any other way? (Monica) Nope.
(Kristine) It really is just a matter of (Monica) And look how flexible our stamps are...
(Kristine) — I know — (Monica) I love that they can just move around...
(Kristine) This is a brand new set. And I can just make it into the
shape of a lemon. Little pinch here, little pull here, look how cute that is. (Monica) Love it. So easy, wow!
(Kristine) So I’ve kind of followed that as a guide. That is it, (Monica) And that’s it! Woo!
(Kristine) and now I’m going to take my Buttercup cardstock. Another great thing
about clear My Acrylix® stamps is that when I march them around on my
stamp pad, I can look right through that clear block to see (Monica) Yep...
cushioned surface like my VersaMat®, lift and ta-da! (Monica) Goodness!
(Kristine) And I have a perfect lemon. Now I’ve already stamped this, it’s kind of
a tone on tone look with Honey on Buttercup, they are kind of close enough, (Monica) Yes, right.
(Kristine) coordinating colors and so we’ll just cut that Buttercup cardstock.
It really only takes me about 30 seconds to trim right around that stamped image. (Monica) Super easy.
(Kristine) Yep, in about 30 seconds I’m going to have an adorable lemon that I’m
going to use in that Honey ink that is going to make the base for my lemon card. (Monica) Wow, that is so great.
(Kristine) Yeah. Now there are some other great ideas that you can create using
this exact technique, right? (Monica) Yep, Yep and I’ve done some samples right here.
(Monica) This card in particular here you can see this was cut with our
Cricut® Cartridge and it’s got a banner wave, so I took a straight sentiment (Kristine) Uh, huh...
and curved it so that it would fit perfectly inside the banner. (Kristine) Awesome.
(Kristine) It looks like it was designed to fit that shape. (Monica) I know, and I love that because it really does open up the
possibilities of what you can do with our stamps. (Kristine) Sure!
(Monica) This one in particular you can see here I’ve got this
stitching done and it's a straight stamp. (Kristine) Uh, huh.
(Monica) And so I stamped it straight, then I was able to curve it and follow it around.
(Kristine) It matches that circular design... (Monica) Yeah, because it’s clear, I can match it exactly to where I left off.
(Kristine) Very nice. (Monica) And then this one is a really fun cute little box here.
I stamped curving the whole stamp around. Of course you want to
stamp that when it’s flat and not assembled. But if just made it a really fun (Kristine) Of course.
and cute design, so you can put it on the handle. (Kristine) Nice. Just a border stamp,
(Monica) Yep! Love it! (Kristine) but curved perfectly.
(Kristine) Well, and I’ve got a few too, that I’d love to show you.
The first one that I really like is the “Just be you” layout page.
Look at these two different medallions. Now one of them is circular and (Monica) Right.
one of them is oval. Believe it or not, they were both created using the exact
same stamp. It’s a circular image, but I just pulled and picked that to an oval shape (Monica) Wow.
and stamped it down and so that gives me two totally different looks (Monica) Looks beautiful.
with one stamp set. Now on this fun bracket frame, used the same
stitching stamp set that you showed us on your sewing card and it’s a border set
so you can see a lot of these straight stitches, but I’ve just curved them
to follow the arc of the bracket. (Monica) Oh! I love it!
(Kristine) You can also do the same thing, even the clouds were made from
a straight line stamp but thanks to My Acrylix® and how easy it is to curve them,
we’re able to create that darling cloud look and really follow that stitching line.
