My name is Maegan Woodin, and I'm a professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and student.
I have danced for MTV, Diana Ross, Marc Jacobs and have appeared in many music videos. You
can find more information about me and my career, as well as photos and videos, at www.dgtnyc.com.
I'm going to be talking to you about ballet.
A temps leve is a small petite allegro jump done in the center. To start off, you can
do a basic version where you're just going to tendre your foot and put weight on that
and jump straight up in the air. So you want to have your foot in a back coupe, not too
high up and not too far down, in that center spot between your calf and your ankle.
So, I'm going to first demonstrate a temps leve, just from a tendu position. And you
want to make sure that your foot clears the floor and that you're fully pointing it underneath
you.
A temps leve can also come from a jete and I will demonstrate that right now. I'm going
to do jete, temps leve, jete, temps leve.
