Hi there! This is Jo Barnes with another "Quick Tip"! I got asked a great question this morning
about the difference between boosting a post or being able to actually really laser target
a post to the audience that you wanted to go to. So I thought, I'd do a really quick video
and show you the difference. So here's a post on my wall, on my page and
if I click down here to boost post then the options that I've got are, I can either send
it to people who like my page and their friends or people who like my page and people I choose
to target. My targeting options are Countries, States or Cities. Then I can choose age
and sex, and that's about it. All I can do is click up here to "Ads Manager". Once I'm in
the Ads Manager just click on this little green "Create an Ad" button and go and grab
the page that I want to advertise. You've got "Promote Page Posts" right in the middle
here. It's bringing up my most recent post but you can pick any post you like simply
by clicking on this little drop down arrow here and grabbing anyone of your posts, OK.
Then what you can do is come down here and super laser target your audience, location,
age, gender, specific interests, connections and all the rest of it that goes with the
super laser targeting stuff that Facebook offers us. So, that's the difference between
boosting a post or promoting your page posts using the actual ad platform. Hope that helps.
