This video will give you an overview of what Classified Senate is all about here at MiraCosta College. Who are we? The Classified Senate is
the official employee group for most classified professionals at MiraCosta College. If you are a regular (full or part-time) monthly (not temporary
or hourly) classified employee, or a contract employee, you are automatically a member of the Classified Senate. The benefits are as
follows: official representation of all Classified employees and interests in the College's collegial governance process; emergency loans
(up to $500 for regular monthly employees); state-level representation on the 4CS, which is the California Community College Classified
Senate; book memorial program at the MiraCosta College Library for those who have lost family members; picnics and other social
activities; and gifts for retiring employees and those in the hospital. The dues are fifteen dollars per year and payable via monthly payroll
deduction or yearly lump sum payment. Here are the programs and services that are a part of Classified Senate: The Career Incentive Program
and Enrollment Fee Reimbursement, Classification Review, Classified Staff Professional Development, Emergency Loan
Program, Employee Recognition Programs, and New Classified Employee Programs. There is an open invitation to Classified Senate
meetings. Visit our website for more information on classified senate meeting times, agendas, audio recordings, highlights, & other documents.
