Hi guys.
Welcome to my channel.
My name is Chigozie.
And on today's video, I'm making a DIY video
on how to bleach shirts.
And I hope you guys enjoy it.
[MUSIC- CYRIL HAHN, "PERFECT FORM"]
So you need a shirt, obviously.
You want to get a shirt that you know
that if you bleach and make a mistake,
you can always throw it out.
I've had this shirt for two years now,
so it doesn't matter to me.
You just want to get a shirt that you are able to bleach
and you can see the visible difference when you bleach it.
And you're going to need some sort of bleach.
You can get it from Walmart or Target of different stores.
It doesn't have to be expensive.
Any type of home bleach or whatever
will be able to work for this.
Obviously, you need a bucket or a bowl or a pot.
But I didn't have a bucket, so I'm
using this big thing I use for my laundry.
But it should can work.
Anything that can hold water, you can use that for this also.
So you put water into the bucket and you fill it up
to a specific level, depending on however you want to do this.
I put it to the middle, of because my bucket is
broken in a way.
So I just fill it up to where I know it could hold.
[MUSIC- CYRIL HAHN, "PERFECT FORM"]
Now, you're going to measure the part of where
you want take it down.
I'm taking it from the middle to the bottom.
So that's why I'm trying to see where
the bleach mark is going to stop.
That's what I'm just doing with this.
[MUSIC- CYRIL HAHN, "PERFECT FORM"]
So, I'm sorry.
I lost the clip.
Prior to this step, you want to pour some bleach
into the water.
So what I did was I poured about 10 tablespoons of bleach
into the water.
And that depends on how much water you have in the bucket
exactly.
So what you do is from the mark I had marked up before,
I just put the shirt in there.
And I'm just trying to soak the shirt in the bleach and water.
You don't have to wet the shirt prior,
because it not going to dyeing it.
We're just bleaching in it.
So you just put the shirt directly into the bleach water,
and just make sure that it goes well and sits well.
I held the shirt to the side of the bucket with a peg
so the whole thing wouldn't drop into the bucket,
because I just want to make the ombre effect with the bleach.
So yeah.
That's basically what I'm doing right now.
I'm just trying to make sure that everything
works perfectly.
[MUSIC- CYRIL HAHN, "PERFECT FORM"]
After letting it stay for about two hours,
now I'm just going to take it out from the bucket.
I also wasn't looking.
I'm so sorry.
I'm not on my A game with this, because I'm just starting this.
But what you do after is you're going
to rinse the shirt with some water.
It doesn't have to be hot or cold.
It doesn't matter.
And what some people also do is they
make another, separate bucket of vinegar and water.
So it's to stop the bleach process.
But I usually don't do that, because it doesn't affect
my shirt and it doesn't get on my body or anything.
So I never use that.
Bu I heard that that's also a good thing you could do.
I just rinse it out.
And then I put the shirt in the dryer.
And I let it dry.
[MUSIC- CYRIL HAHN, "PERFECT FORM"]
So this is the finished product of the shirt
I'm wearing with a Levi jacket and some denim pants.
And it's a simple look.
I love how the shirt turned out.
It looks really nice.
And it didn't bleach as much as I wanted it to bleach,
but it doesn't matter.
And also, this is the second look
where I'm looking more casual.
I'm just wearing it as a shirt for an undershirt I'm wearing.
And a casual look is less refined.
It's left covered.
And actually, this is a picture of what I was trying to go for.
But maybe I used too much water.
And I should have used more bleach.
But if you have any suggestions, whatever, just
leave them in the comments section.
And thanks for watching my video.
