Windsor, located on the banks of the Detroit River features 6 kilometres of continuous
shorelines parks linking the University of Windsor, Downtown Windsor and the Old Town
of Walkerville. The riverfront parks include internationally recognized sculptures, special
event venues, historic monuments, walking and cycling trails, and magnificent fountains.
Visit the Bert Weeks Memorial Gardens, with its unique cascading fountain and reflecting
pool, or listen to live music during one of many outdoor summer festivals in the riverfront
festival plaza. Visiting ships dock in Dieppe Gardens, and visitors are always welcome in
the museum without walls, The Odette Sculpture Park. Windsor has more than 3,000 acres of
parkland, including the constantly evolving riverfront parks. The designs for this central
riverfront parkland honour the heritage and history of the Windsor area and include interpretive
signs and magnificent gardens. The park designs have been honoured with national and international
awards.
