Toronto, Canada. The hardcore winter affect Canadians for about 6 months.
In February a big number of Canadians travel to foreign countries, looking for warmer weather,
And like the majority of Canadians I indeed travelled… To Cuba.
Like the majority of canadians, I came to Cuba to relax and have a good time.
Cuba's revolutionary story is internationally known.
Cuba shows its resistance agains consumerism through its 4 wheel rarities,
crystal colour waters and a its generous and creative people, without luxury though.
Very different from the same population on the 1950's.
Cuba receives around 2.3 million tourists from around the world,
but specially from European countries, latin America and Canada, 75% of them are Canadians.
Tourists spend US$ 2.7 billion annually to rejoin themselves in refreshing and clean waters
and a cultural enriching population from which the majority of tourists are restrained from
interacting with the best of Cuba, its population...
At this edition I have a special team. My son André as a photographer Jr.
our Guide Harold Paz, and my partner Marie Snyder.
As soon as I arrived in Cuba I thought I was in Brazil because of buses, football and the craft art.
Our first stop was at El Delfinario, in Varadero.
The trained group of dolphins were a treat for kids.
Right after that we drove towards Havana to learn how the famous Cuban cigar is made.
At La Corona cigar factory the cigar and cigarettes are handmade by 850 workers at that plant.
We don't images from the inside of the factory because that is a military secret…
We have 850 workers producing 20000 cigars daily, separated in 12 types.
We maintain the totally handmade tradition here. Panzine: Thank you very much!
One interesting thing about Havana is that the entire city was surrounded by walls and protected by fortresses,
this is one of them, it still have cannons used in battles agains the Spanish's army.
There is a large amount of monuments in Havana, the city is made for tourists, not only old cars around here.
Havana receives around 2 million tourists annually.
Now I'm at the dream house, a rum distillery, everything handmade, wonderful.
We just had a magnificent cappuccino with fire, even André enjoyed, but he didn't drink it.
And I believe this is the dream of everyone that enjoys cachaça,
an old fashion distillery machine right behind me a wonderful machine.
Como por exemplo Hugo Chavez, Ivo Morales, Putin, o papa - não o atual. Bush…
Bush… No, no, no… Obama, Talvez… Panzine: E o Lula?
Sure, Sim, claro. Lula é amigo do Castro.
Let's wrap up, maybe next year I will see you there.
I love Cuba!
