DIVINE CREAM: A TRUE SUCCESS STORY
An investigation by marieclaire.fr
I'm heading for Manosque, to the L'OCCITANE site, where it all began ¡V or almost.
Episode 2: The origins of the Divine Cream
I'm going to meet with Olivier Baussan, founder of L'OCCITANE en Provence.
It was Olivier who came across the immortelle plant in Corsica, 12 years ago.
So, Olivier, can you tell me a little more about this mysterious plant?
I was in Corsica and saw a small sign at the side of the road, indicating that there was a distiller nearby.
So I followed the sign and arrived at the distillery on the day they were distilling immortelle.
The distiller told me that the plant was used in Corsica to treat bruises.
It was an anti-bruising remedy, like an extremely powerful arnica.
And I thought to myself, there's something extraordinary about this plant.
I came back here, to Provence, with a small bottle of immortelle essential oil. I wanted to have it analyzed, to understand the properties that this plant, by its very name, was meant to have. And I'm talking about immortality, for there was said to be something miraculous about this plant.
Because immortelle is a plant that never fades, isn't it?
It never ages. And even more, on the skin, it's as if it were a cell regenerator. It enables the skin to fight its own natural aging process.
And from this, how did the Divine Cream come to life?
Divine came naturally.
This plant, which has such a magnificent yellow color, also grows close to the sea. And every time you pick an immortelle flower, the sea is there, within sight.
It was this combination that brought the Divine Cream to life.
So that's the secret behind the Divine Cream: the natural ingredient at the heart of the formula ¡V immortelle, a plant that never fades.
