Another common medical problem in cats is itchy skin. Cats will get itchy skin for a
number of reasons, first of which is probably fleas. And you'll know that they have itchy
skin because when you scratch them they help you. They have this little scratch reflex
where their foot starts going like that. And sometimes if you scratch them over here, then
they'll lift their tail or they'll really push against your fur. That's another sign
that they're very itchy. Push against your fingers there. There's a little skin spot
that this guy has. It's called a little miliary lesion. Sometimes cats who have allergies
or infections will have a whole bunch of these. This is actually a site where a tick was attached
to this guy. So that's the reason why he has this little skin lesion here is from the mouth
parts of the tick being attached to his skin. So fleas, allergies, infections, can all cause
itchy skin in cats.
