The Pan-Hellenic Council of Missouri State University recently won a national award in
risk management for campuses with six to twelve chapters. The group was recognized at a conference
in Tampa, FL. At Missouri State, the Pan-Hellenic Council
is the governing body of six national sororities and two local sororities. The council acts
as the judicial board, works with sororities to provide education programming and coordinates
the fall formal recruitment. To be considered for the award the Pan-Hellenic
Council submitted an application that documented risk management programs the council provided
over the past 2 years. These programs include a co-sponsored event, speakers, workshops,
officer education and the initiation of new policies concerning topics such as alcohol
use, illegal drugs, hazing, *** abuse and facility management.
And on the court representing the Pan-Hellenic Council is its president, Allyson Layton.
And on the court to congratulate her is Missouri State Vice President for Student Affairs,
Dr. Earle Doman. Ladies and gentlemen please acknowledge the
achievement of the MIssouri State Pan-Hellenic Council. It is in the Bancorp South academic
