Alright so I let you guys know how to prep hair and that you need to section it off.
And that's what we're going to be doing here in this segment. We're going to be sectioning
off Ashley's hair. I told you guys that we're going to go start with the scalp here and
we're going to go up into a pony tail and add her hair here at the root and go up. And
so I said I would do about 8 to 10 sections. And so I'm going to start here up in the front.
I'm going to keep it really, really simple and I'm going to, Ashley's hair, just to let
you guys know, Ashley's hair is naturally very, very, very curly. Okay and if you see
some dry spots in the hair it's good to have your pink lotion on hand and actually work
that into the scalp as you're doing it. It's going to look a little white at first but
that pink lotion will soak in so don't worry you wont be walking around with white hair
or pink hair rather. But it's nice when you're sectioning it off when you see a dry spot
in the scalp it's really nice to get that lotion in as you go. And so here we go. We're
going to start with our first section. And I'm going to, each time I finish with a section
I'm going to actually put a rubber band in it for now just to basically get the rest
of the hair out of the way. And so, Ashley's hair, like I was saying before, Ashley's hair
was relaxed with a child's relaxer. She's still 12 years old and you wouldn't want to
put an adult relaxer on a child. Actually with children they say before they've hit
puberty sometimes it's not even smart to relax children's hair. I wouldn't suggest it because
a lot of times the stuff that's in these relaxers are so, so, so strong and it can actually
make your hair very, very damaged. And can make it so brittle and it will break off.
And so be really careful when you're using relaxers and stuff and don't necessarily try
it at home at first. Go to a black hair dresser and find out the rules and stuff and find
out how to relax some black hair especially children's hair. So here's my first section
as you can see. And it's kind of in a triangular section. So Ashley will you pass me one of
the rubber bands? And so you want to just section that off. And while, I'm going to
take a break for a minute and section off the rest of this hair and we'll come back
after it's all sectioned off all around her hair like this. I'm going to go and do that
right now. I'm going to section off her hair in the 10 different sections and then we'll
be back and I'll show you how to start putting the braids in.
