I'm here to talk to you about the different styles in men's glasses. You'll notice that
we're going to have a few different options to choose from. First, we have a traditional
men's set of glasses. This is a double bar. Traditionally, people think that this gives
glasses a little bit more strength, a little bit more dexterity, it can withstand a little
bit more wear and tear. Not necessarily true. It's more of an older style. It's probably
less contemporary. Below that, we're going to have a more contemporary men's style. Again,
a little bit more sleek design, a little bit more European, and definitely less traditional
than the before mentioned double bar. In the middle, we're going to have a plastic frame.
We're going to have thicker sides. It's just going to be a thicker frame in general. A
lot of plastic men's frames are going to be a little bit retro. Above that we have the
semi-rimless. Semi-rimless is a frame that's going to have a string that goes around the
lens and holds the lens in place. There's no rim on the bottom. It's less conspicuous.
Then underneath that, we're going to have what we call a drill mount on a totally rimless
frame. This frame has no rim around it. Nothing is holding it in place except for the drilled
in holes into the patient’s prescription to hold the temples and the bridge in place.
This particular model is hinge less and people generally like to choose this frame when they
don't want their frames to be seen at all.
