I have an idea and a great team and a great network and now's the time
to move forward and
see where this takes us. Centricycle is planning on shifting
into two parts: one remaining here at Michigan
as our own design accelerator and the other part,
the incorporated part, moving to India permanently. The utility of a centrifuge is that it
separates blood
once the blood is separated you can use these simple paper strips called Rapid Diagnostic
Tests
to diagnose ***, hepatitis, syphilis, typhoid fever and a lot of other diseases.
It's really important to be on the ground
and be able to adapt quickly, to build those really strong partnerships
to see people face to face. India and the United States have different strengths and weaknesses
and I think prototyping is a lot easier to do here
where the actual manufacturing will be easier to do over there. India is much more, like,
welcome to people coming in and
trying something out
and hoping it works.
What we're working on right now is a manual centrifuge that will help detect a lot of
really prevalent diseases in India and will help those people get treatment. Because they
have the medicine that patients need they just needed just
need to get the diagnosis. Our device
it's portable and
separates blood within five minutes that makes it
makes it very easy for them to work with.
India is a good place to start
we would like to spread out more if
our model works in india.Once we're over there, actually doing clinical trials, do the testing
make sure that we
have exactly the right product, Hopefully things will take off so that we can
actually sell this device to
different organizations. Five years down the line we should have multiple
products out there. We should hopefully be working with the Indian
government and then ten years out we should hopefully have expanded outside India.
It's a chance to make a really large impact. I want to improve the human condition. Improve
people's lives.
I'm just getting out of school, I don't have count
anything more than internships in terms of industry experience. It's a more
difficult path but it's the right one.
We're going to be there until we succeed or fail spectacularly.
