Hi, I'm Linda Leon with Expert Village and I've been working with children for a long
time. Today, we're going to teach you how to pass your Protestant faith along your children.
And I love using simple applications because they have tremendous impact. One of the things
that we've been careful to do with our children all along their little lives, and they're
teenagers now, but we put appliques all around the house. Appliques - things that have Scriptural
references to them. This one says "This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice
and be glad in it." You can pick these up from a variety of stores - Christian book
stores, sometimes the dollar store has these on clearance. But make it a point to begin
to put appliques all around your hosue. The Bible talks about how you put Scriptures on
your walls, on your door posts, and God means for you to take that literally because everwhere
they walk, they see Scripture so that they can begin to internalize them. So we have
those types of appiqules in every room of the house. Every bedroom has them, every eating
place has them. Every room in our house has some kind of applique or there are Scriptures
posted to the wall, because we take it serious. And we know that if we allow our children
to get used to seeing the word of God at all times, then they will take it to heart when
they live. They will say, "Well the Scriptures are very important. My parents put Scriptures
all over the house, so they must be very important." And then they'll carry those things out into
the work world, or to their school environment, or where ever they are. They will take those
Scriptures with them because they've been internalized. So we might change up the Scriptures
on the wall, you know a few times a year or whenever, but you want to make sure that you have something that
you can apply so they can see it. Visuals are excellent. Invest in some appliques and
get your children to not only just look at them on the wall, but actually memorize the
Scriptures. And I'm Linda Leon with Expert Village.
