Welcome back to Ohio State, President Obama. On May 5, you'll join thousands of Buckeyes
as we graduate from Ohio State and move on to the next stage of our lives.
The opportunities here have helped us grow in countless ways.
As students. As problem-solvers. And as global citizens.
With our degrees, comes responsibility. What we've learned on campus, will help us
pay forward and solve big problems. We'll feed the hungry, discover alternative
sources of energy, find cures for cancer. At Ohio State I majored in agribusiness and
researched community gardens. I worked in a lab at Ohio State's Wexner Medical
Center where we fight diseases like diabetes and atherosclerosis.
I helped co-found a magazine that highlights the great stories of Ohio State students.
I worked at the Center for Automotive Research where I worked on team projects like EcoCAR.
I founded the Pure Water Access Project to bring clean water to developing nations. Now
I'm going to study public health at the University of Sheffield in England.
I want to work to create opportunities for children of all backgrounds to receive a world-class
education. I'll design the cars of the future.
I'm going to cure diseases. I'll find new ways to keep people healthy.
I will always pay forward to help other students have the same opportunities I had.
Graduating from Ohio State means joining a network of half a million...
Half a million. Half a million.
A half million. Half a million.
Half a million. Wait, a half million? Really?
A half million. Half a million alumni living in more than
150 nations. Our Buckeye family has the ideas and the knowledge
to solve the planet's biggest problems. We know it won't be easy, but we're up to
the challenge. We're going to change the world.
This is our promise to you, President Obama. This is our promise to the world.
