Hello! My name is Juan Jesus.
I'm the onologist and the owner of Bodegas Ladron de Guevara.
Let's start with the tasting of a white wine made with the local Riojan variety -- Viura.
A 95% of the cultivated fields for white wines in Rioja are Viura.
First of all, we have heard the sound of glycerol, that in this case it is high-pitched.
White wines, due to their long proof, might have a more high-pitched sound.
Its colour indicates its youth, it is green, intense, with golden edges, which means that
this wine is one year old.
In the nose, if we swirl the glass counter clockwise, it is pure fragrance, fresh, young,
Mediterranean.
We can perceive tropical fruits notes, as mango or peach, with reminiscent aromas of
citrus, pineapple and grapefruit.
In the mouth it is soft, smooth at the beginning but acid at the same time.
This is a very attractive contrast, as it happens with young people.
It is very Mediterranean, so warm that my tongue starts to salivate, encouraging us
to drink it, because of it freshness.
It also has an incipient aftertaste which incites you to continue drinking it.
We recommend pairing it with pasta dishes, vegetables or fish, and at 8-10 C.
Cheers!
