Hello my name is Peter. I am a designer and I love to create things from paper.
Today I want to show you,
how you can create a pop up card
in the shape
of a snake.
Download the template.
Print it on strong paper or light cardboard.
You don't need to use white paper. You can also use coloured paper
or coloured cardboard.
Crease all folding lines with an empty ballpen.
Don't forget to crease the folding line of the backing sheet.
To cut out the small decorations, you can use a scalpel or a cutting knife.
To cut out the outlines, you can use a pair of scissors.
You don't need to cut out the decorations. You can also paint them
in your favourite colors.
You may also want to paint the backside of the paper.
If you want to cut out the decorations, start with the smallest parts.
If you use a scalpel or a cutting knife, you should always use a cutting mat,
so you don't damage your table.
Finally, cut out the outline of the snake.
You can use a pair of scissors.
Use a ruler and a cutting knife to cut out the backing sheet.
Don't forget to use a cutting mat.
Fold the backing sheet.
Fold the parts of the snake.
For the assembling, you can use adhesive tape,
fluid glue
or a glue stick.
Apply glue to the biggest flap.
Place it on the backing sheet
and be sure to adjust it properly.
When the glue of the first flap is dry,
you can apply glue to the second flap.
Close the card and press it firmly.
If you open the card again,
every piece should be at its right place.
Apply glue to the small end of the tail.
Close the card and open it again.
You're finished!
You don't need to use only white papers.
You can decorate the outside of the card, the inner pages, you can use colour,
you can do whatever you like!
Now it's your turn to be creative!
