Hi! I'm Terri Turco with Expert Village, and we have just integrated our mashed bananas
into the banana bread recipe. Now we're going to spice it up a little. Now, what you want
to do is of course, you have your handy dandy measuring spoons. You're going to have a half
a teaspoon of vanilla. Stir that in. I stir after each time I had something. I just think
it really integrates it so much better. As I said before, this is a half a recipe only
making 2 loves instead of 4. Once again, if you want to make 4 loaves, just double the
recipe. Then we're going to add some baking soda. What we have here is 1/4 of teaspoon
of baking soda. It'll help here to use the 1/4 teaspoon. Its just a real small amount.
What does baking soda do? It actually it rising agent. Then your usual pinch of salt. I say
a pinch. A lot of people are on low salt diet. The reason you add salt is salt always releases
flavor in any food. There's a real delicate balance of salt. You know when something is
too salty. What I have added to this recipe to give it a real kind of mellow texture is
cinnamon. Did you know cinnamon can lower your cholesterol. It's really one of the best
spices you can use. I know that was about 8 shakes, but what that comes out to is about
1 teaspoon of cinnamon. If you like a lot of cinnamon, just add more. It's that simple.
When we come back we're going to do the final couple ingredients, so stay tuned. We're going
to be adding flour, walnuts, and really prepping those pans. There's a little secret to prepping
the pan, so do come back.
