1. Original purpose
The purpose of blood breakdown in the medical field is as a preventive measure for infection; this is what we have developed.
2. Characteristics
Octase is said to have "two major characteristics."
One is, first, that its ability to break down blood, which is protein, is "world-class."
Second, an enzyme is something which reacts with hydrolysis,
and has the characteristic of activity levels which decrease in a short period of time from the beginning of the reaction;
however, in the case of Octase, activity levels are maintained for long periods and breakdown capacity is preserved.
This is said to be an unusual quality at the global level.
3. Origin and principles
Octase is a special purifying liquid composed of a protease, a lipolytic enzyme and other things
however, my own research had its starting point not in enzymes but in microbes.
Microbes are capable of breaking down various things because they are basically all composed of "enzymes,"
and it was this that became the origin of my development of "Octase."
For example, if you introduce microbes into a tank of tropical fish,
as the microbes—that is to say,the enzymes within them—
break down the fish's excrement, the water quality is preserved and maintained in a pure state.
Because the enzymes take apart the excrement at the molecular level, a comfortable environment for the fish can be maintained.
On the larger scale, the same can be said of the world environment.
My research into enzymes began from the phenomenon of the fishtank which can maintain water quality over a long period with no filter.
4. Motivation for development
Three issues arose in medical practice.
The most serious was that the caustic soda used to clean medical equipment is extremely hazardous.
The second was that, if accidentally swallowed, caustic soda is extremely poisonous.
Third was that legal restrictions make the disposal of caustic soda extremely difficult.
Here, the major theme of my development was the necessity of making a product with cleaning capacity which could replace caustic soda.
At the same time, it had to be safe with regard to human health and for the environment.
I began my work with the intention of clearing these three hurdles.
5. Scope of applications
Of the basic capacities of Octase, within the breakdown of proteins and fats,
one is food processing-related, that is restaurants and machines used for food processing.
I believe that "Octase" can be applied to the entire food industry.
The second is blades. When cutting, inevitably proteins and fats cling to the blade and it is dulled.
The use of "Octase" will return it to its original sharpness.
Another field of great promise is oral care in caretaking of the elderly.
For example, if Octase is used to clean false teeth or the often ignored toothbrush,
a swift, easy, comprensive purification becomes possible.
Overall, I feel it can contribute to various "hygiene management" issues in care of the elderly.
