Stevie: I remember walking through the city,
no bills, no money, ball in my hand,
man, our sweat is [life funny].
Intentions are blowing big,
but I really wasn't ready.
Educated to the game is why I'm always playin',
Lookin' around seein' my jersey in these stadiums
and you expect me to keep the same sized cranium?
Hey, Stevie Johnson, number 13,
wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills.
This is ... My Ink.
(rap rhythm)
I pretty much drew out every one of my tattoos.
I wanted my work to be on myself,
you know what I'm sayin'?
Sometimes I get the looks like,
"This guy, he's probably some type of thug or
some kind of gangster or what not,"
but then when I talk to them, they see like,
"Oh wait, he's pretty cool," you know,
That's pretty wild, that's different ...
in a good way.
(hip hop rhythm)
My body's like a scrapbook, you know,
just putting things here and putting things there,
it all means something.
Some mean more than others, obviously.
(hip hop rhythm)
I got right here, my mom's name, Rhonda with a flame
because I feel like that's where I get my fire from.
The whole reason why I got 13 was to be different
and prove that it's not an unlucky number.
I also got because you put the 1 and 3 together,
it makes a "B", you know, my wife Britney,
I call her "B", we've been together since high school.
(hip hop rhythm)
Britney: You get to know Steve,
he's this total goofball.
He's never serious unless he's on the field.
I love his tattoos, I think that seeing him
use his body as a canvas is amazing to me.
Boy: This is a tattoo of me.
Stevie: Look, point to it ...
I'm a father, I have three kids;
Mia, she's the youngest one and
Armani, my son, he's 4 and Miyah, she's 6,
so there's action every moment, you know?
This tattoo right here is my daughter named Miyah,
with the Matthew 6:25 underneath Miyah
and my son Armani, just means like "do not worry".
Being a father is tougher than playing football.
I should take the stress out on the football field,
but coming home is everything; it's fun,
it's draining, it's like a whole new world.
Britney: When Stevie's on the field,
when he comes home, he's just daddy.
He's just a regular guy and we love him
for who he is and not for what he does.
That's what we want to instill into our kids.
And he's a lovable guy!
Stevie: Family is definitely important to me.
It's the reason why I go.
(music)
This is my big cuz right here,
you know what I'm saying?
He's been with me since day one.
Ya Boy: It's important to have family around you
or people who really know you.
Nobody knows me like him and
nobody knows him like me,
so we got each other's back.
Stevie: I'm about to destroy him in Madden,
that's what's about to happen.
The usual, you know?
Ya Boy: Yeah, this dude thinks he's better than me in Madden
and he'll be cheating and all he do is
throw it to hisself all day long, so ...
Stevie: Yeah, come on, 13, WHOO!!
DID YOU SEE THAT?
Yeah, look at him dancing, high five here!
Yeah, good job! (laughs)
(rhythmic music)
These are my latest tattoos,
they're "Handle Biz" and "Have Fun".
You gotta handle biz first before you have fun.
It's life, period, you know like when
you come home from school as a kid,
you don't go home and turn the Xbox on
or Playstation on, you go home and
you do your homework first, or you do your chores.
That's handling business before you have fun.
That's been my motto, you know?
That's what I go by, HBHF.
