March Madness is here. It's time to hit the road to the Final Four.
While we will cheer for our men's and women's basketball teams in the big dance
we also applaud our students and a big dnce they performed this month.
Students at the UofL Dance Marathon raised more than $70,000
for Kosair Children's Hospital.
This is UofL's largest run student philanthropy event.
Anna: "We have so many people involved.
And I'm really excited to see the community come out and support us this year.
It's a really great cause, so look for us again next year."
Our Speed School held its annual Expo and competitions.
attracting elementary, middle and high school students from
across the region to our campus
to interact with our students and faculty.
Jared: "We have demonstrations from professors.
They have a chance to talk to college students like me
who have been through the process.
getting youngsters excited about engineering and getting high schoolers excited about UofL.
While we will spend the rest of this month
wearing our red and black, there was one day we wore blue.
Our School of Medicine participated in Wear Blue Day
to recognize the importance of screening for colon cancer.
Krueger: "Even if you don't have symptoms,
if you're over 50, you need to get screened.
We're also celebrating the good treatments available
when colon cancers are found.

There are better treatments today than there ever were in the past."
Our mission as a citzen university
continued with Smile Kentucky.
Our dental students provide free care to
middle and high school studentswho are newcomers to our community.
Greenwell: "Many of these children, it's the first time
they've ever been to a dentist.
So we are giving some check ups and cleanings and dental treatment
that these children need."
Win or lose, we can always smile at the great things
the University of Louisville does for our community.
