Hi! My name is Dan and I’m here with Expert Village. Right now, I’m going to talk about
how to burn down your fire. When you’re starting your fire, you want to start with
small fuel and work your way up to larger fuel. When burning down your fire, you want
to go in the exact opposite direction and sort of make a bell curve of small fuel to
big fuel then big fuel to small fuel. The reason for doing this is by putting smaller
fuel on top of the bigger fuel. You’re going to cause your fire to burn hotter and faster,
and there by reduce more of your wood to ash, which is easier for the ecosystem to break
down. Also, before lighting your fire you want to plan ahead for this and have a good
supply of smaller fuel on hand and ready so you can burn down your fire. This will also help once your fire is burned
down to just coals, it’ll be easier to put out as appose to having large flaming logs.
That’s something to think about when burning down your fire.
