Now, I've been taking and heading SouthWest, I found that dry creek bed, now, I've actually
found water. One led right into the other just as we expected. So, now that we have
a source of water, we need to know the different ways to purify this water. The best ways to
purify water are one of a million different ways and I'm going to show you how to make
a homemade water purifier. This is going to consist of charcoal, sand, leaves and other
types of grass, and we're also going to need a container to put it all into, which I have
right here, a water bottle. Now, if you don't have a water bottle to keep all your stuff
in, good thing is to find a bunch of fresh bark off of a tree, you can roll it up, tie
it together and then you can put all of your ingredients in there and cap it with a couple
of big rocks. You're going to have to build your own fire, which I'm going to show you
how to do in another segment, and you're going to take the chard logs, make sure you get
that dark black chard logs, is actually charcoal. Make sure it burns until it's nice and black,
if you let it burn any longer than that, if you let it burn overnight and it turns white
and ashy, it's too late, it's useless, the charcoal's not going to work. So, make sure
you take it off the fire just in time when it's nice and black and it crumbles, then
you're going to mash it up with a rock or a knife or whatever you have and make a really
fine powder and that powder we're going to be using, with all the other things, in our
water purifier. Let's show you how to use it.
