Hello. I am Hirota from Hitachiya-USA.
The most important point when sharpening cutleries
such as knives, scissors or the blade of a drill
is their angles.
I have been sharpening these types of blades
for about 50 years now; however, learning how
to sharpen the blade of a drill was the most
difficult skill for me to master because the smallest
change in the sharpened angle of the blade could
easily prevent the drill from opening a hole in the metal.
Once one masters the right angle to sharpen a blade
the blade of the drill can be used until its very end.
Today I sharpen cutleries, such as knives and scissors,
by keeping this important point
about angles in mind.
Right now I am seeting this blade
into the drill.
I will now try to make a hole
in this metal with this drill.
As you can see the drill isn't making a hole.
Now I will sharpen the blade with this grinder.
As you can see, after the blade was sharpened
I was able to drill a hole through the metal.
