Pope Francis has been named Time Magazine's Person of the Year.
The magazine said the Pope had pulled the papacy out of the palace and into the streets
during his nine months in office. The win is not that big of a surprise when
you consider Pope Francis was also the most talked about name on Facebook, the most powerful
person on Twitter and the most talked about name on the internet.
Francis became the pontiff in March this year following the resignation of Pope Benedict
XVI in February. NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden was runner-up.
Also in the top ten were gay rights activist Edith Windsor, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad
and singer Miley Cyrus.
