Samak Rice is widely eaten while fasting
Many dishes can be made with samak rice like samak atta roti, samak rice pulav, samak rice kheer etc.
Today I'm going to make Samak Rice Kheer, Lets see the ingredients required for making it
For this we'll need
Samak Rice (Barnyard Millet) - 1/4 cup (60 gm approx.)
Sugar - 4 tbsp, adjust to taste
Almonds - 8, finely chopped
Cashew Nuts - 5, finely chopped
Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp
Full Cream Milk - 3 cup
Lets start making Samak Rice Kheer
First wash and soak samak rice in water for 1/2 hour
I have already washed and soaked the samak rice in water for 1/2 hour and drained water from them
Now boil milk in a wok / kadhai
Milk has boiled, turn gas to low and add samak rice to the milk
Turn gas to medium flame
Keep stirring the kheer often
Now turn gas to low and cook it until the milk thickens
Kheer is thickened, now add cardamom powder
Add cashew nuts
Add half of the almonds
Turn off the gas and add sugar
Mix all the ingredients well
It will get more thick after cooling so
Sugar is mixed properly now take it out into a serving bowl
Garnish with chopped almonds
Samak Rice kheer is ready
It is very tasty
You can serve it either warm or chilled
You can refrigerate it for 2 to 3 days
