Hello again this is Oscar Moreno with Moreno Custom Home Visions and today we are going
to teach you guys how to replace a tool chain switch. Real simple tools that you are going
to need are a pair of wire strippers, real simple standard guys. We are also going to
need just a real simple screwdriver. Then we are going to need your volt tester just
to make sure that the electricity has been cut off, safety first. Now then what we are
going to do is we are going to remove the screws that hold the actual pull switch in
place and usually in fans there should be two to three screws. What you are going to
do is just remove those guys out of the way and the cover comes right off.
Don't be overwhelmed by all the excessive wires that you see just go ahead and choose
and identify two of the black wires that are going directly to the power source to the
pull switch. What you are going to end up doing is cutting both of those wires off,
making sure that there is still no power, you recheck with your voltameter and make
sure there is no power. We are going to cut both of those wires off, splice them and make
sure that the copper is exposed. Then we are going to get our new pull switch and install
that in place, cover that up with some wire nuts and make sure everything is nice and
tight, put the cover back on and you have got yourself a new pull switch.
