Hello and welcome to Food Tube. My name is Simone and I'm a bartender in London.
Jamie, the one and only, asked me to show you which cocktail I would do for my friends
at home for spring. I'm gonna prepare you Tom Collins twist with elderflower liqueur.
No matter where you are it's gonna be spring all over the world after this drink.
To prepare a Tom Collins with a twist of spring energy we need some gin, some elderflower
liqueur, soda water with all the bubbles that picks you up, fresh citrus, a little bit of
caster sugar, powdery, and ice. And if you don't wanna do it I'll come in your house
and make it 24/7, everywhere. Right, we have to put 50ml in your house shot
glass and you can use it as a reference. That's it, a third of a glass is exactly 50ml. Next
step is the elderflower, 25ml. Half of the amount of the gin. Elderflower gives this
beautiful, floral bouquet in your cocktail. It's so simple. If you can't get this liqueur
you can get a nice elderflower cordial, you can get it in any kind of supermarket. Anywhere
you put it tastes beautiful. Lemon, it's spring don't forget. First thing I'm gonna do, I'm
gonna peel all around, 360°, the beautiful skin of this lemon. I wanna do myself a nice
bracelet but I will use it to garnish my cocktail. So you see you find that with one lemon I
can garnish it and I can use it as an ingredient. I'm gonna split it in half and I'm gonna use
the juice of half a lemon inside of the drink.
Add a little bit of caster sugar, lets say a teaspoon.
Ok, and obviously you have to dissolve it very quickly.
Alright, we're almost there.
We have to just put ice in the glass. Now, soda water that gives the length. So
you're gonna make it a refreshing cocktail. You're sipping with your friends. Normally
if its outside, inside, sunny or rainy, you're gonna feel in the middle of spring with this.
With the same spoon that I used to dissolve the sugar, I simply mix everything. I want my
drink to be balanced. First until the last sip, the same balance. You remember my beautiful
zesty lemon?! I'm gonna wrap that like a ring then put it right in the middle.
Now with this beautiful zest, all around the rim, anytime that Ibrush the glass I can really
feel what the spring is all about; zesty, fresh, citrusy. So guys here we have Tom Collins
twist with an elderflower, zesty, fresh. Mmmmm. I feel in holidays no matter where I am, no
matter how the weather is. This your Tom Collins twist with elderflower. I wanna see you making
drink at home. Tell me your feedback. Also you can use different kinds of liqueur for
this and if you wanna see now Jamie making a nice Negroni aperitivo just click down the
bottom on your right. Now guys, come closer, I've got a secret but don't tell anyone please.
Keep watching Food Tube, there's some big news coming all about drinks, all about
drinks. Keep it for me, it's a secret. Salute!
