John: I actually, on a dare, read this book that this friend of mine put me up to it,
because I would argue with her about being a vegetarian, just to get her goat really.
And it was a “Diet for New America,” and that just a kinda… let me in on the truth
that I kinda know but didn’t want to think about how a animals are processed for food,
for human consumption. Chris: Yeah there wasn’t anything really
disgusting or particularly nasty for me, I was just always really into having pets and
felt a real connection with animals and I guess as I became aware you know you get through
adolescents you know you don’t even think about it, it’s not even something that ah,
I don’t know, for me it wasn’t something that even crossed my mind but once I became
aware of how this food was coming from where it was coming from to my plate, I couldn’t
eat it, it was disgusting. I stopped eating red meat for… because it was, because it
was the reasons that I talked about earlier but I still ate chicken for a long time, and
we were on tour and saw a chicken truck go by with these chickens that were just bleeding
and it was just disgusting and John: Dirty
Chris: And that was it John: [inaudible]
Chris: Yeah, haven’t had a piece of it since so you know examples like that and just the,
a lot of umm... it’s a lot of kind of...natural research done as well and you know it’s
not actually, were not actually born ready to eat meat and it’s something you have
to develop and it’s not something that you need to develop. The issue with the whole
thing is just a… education and information, most people don’t thing about it, they never
get out of that phase that I was talking about earlier where you just…just food, you don’t
think the process. John: Some of the most disgusting things you
will see is when corporations feed people, because there bottom line minded and a in
that situation the respect for life is forgotten. [Laughter] I hope your money makes you comfortable
in hell because if there is any justice you will suffer. Yeah a…
Chris: [inaudible] John: There is a vegetarian restaurant called
“Ipanema” that I actually used to worked at for a long time but a actually before I
was vegetarian I worked there but the food there is amazing and it’s a small, you know
business that a friend of ours runs and a it’s incredible food and great prices and
it’s all vegetarian, a lot of the times a… there’s always the vegan options. It’s
Ipanema, on Grace street in Richmond Virginia right down the street from Twisters, it’s
called “Nanci Raygun.” You got to go see a show at Nanci Raygun, go down the street
to Ipanema. You should beat the living *** out of someone you find abusing animals, that
*** is sickening, I understand that teenage boys are *** retards but hopefully, you
know there will be some thought process and compassion in what they do to a… to animals
that they find in their prepubescent adventures… little ***. Think for yourselves, think
about what you eat and try a little compassion. Chris: On your own.
John: There’s a lot of information out there so a go educate yourselves.
