Hi, I'm Carmen Lynne with Expert Village, and we are talking today about dreams and
dream analysis. So why are dreams so important? Well, obviously everybody dreams, whether
or not you remember them, we're all dreaming and we're dreaming throughout the night. It's
absolutely vital that we do dream because it's a way for our subconscious to release
anything that has built up during the day, to process information, it's very very emotionally
and psychologically healthy to have dreams. There are times in our life where maybe dreams
are suppressed because sometimes medications can actually help to suppress dreams. So you
might find that if you come off a medication you start dreaming more. Also, during those
times when you're sleep deprived, when you're not getting enough sleep, and when you feel
like you're only kind of half there, when you're in the waking state. The reason that
you don't feel good is not because you're lacking sleep, but because you're lacking
dreams. So dreams are so important. They've conducted scientific tests, and they've discovered
that people, if they deprive them of the REM stage of sleep, which means rapid eye movement
which tells you you're going into dreams, that people start to go crazy after only a
few days. So that will tell you why dreams are so important. So we're going to be looking
at, in the next few clips, at exactly how you analyze your own dreams, so come back
for more.
