I’m Christina Hendricks. Did you know that fresh water is a forest
product? Forests also give us clean air, wildlife,
wood, recreation and much, much more. Because my father was a forester, I’ve tried
to never take these things for granted. There are natural, social and economic forces
that threaten the world’s forests. We can all act to protect them, by learning
more about how forests affect our nations and by encouraging informed decisions to ensure
their future. Twelve nations have voluntarily come together
to form the Montreal Process, to advance awareness and sustainable management of the world’s
temperate and boreal forests, and to promote a common framework for reporting forest data,
which is critical for sound land management decision-making at all levels.
We all depend on our natural resources and the economic activity and intangible benefits
that come from our forests. Visit MontrealProcess dot org to join me in
supporting sustainable forest management, for a healthier planet.
