The importance of expanding the educative coverage, the job opportunities to formalize the economy
and promote the development of our country and in Latin America is essential. The education, the values
the work, the institutional strengthen, the security and the legal certainty are fundamental tools
to reinforce the Guatemalan and Latin American Society, which are important to attract
we just had a few hours to work against the hours that we expose our minds to what
is not correct in any way before God.
How important Pastor those reflections that you are giving to us and the vision you had 20 years ago, definitely
it makes us think and be aware. And in the order of what you were talking what must the parents do
to retake the education at home? That is the formative education and what must the schools, institutions
colleges, universities do in terms of education to make a better society to rescue it from
the actual situation?
The world today is moving through relative values, if you observe, the values have changed
there is just a place where values remain as universals, eternal and unchanging
that place is the Bible, and I know we all have one in some place at our homes: It can be in our bookcase,
or as a decoration element in our living room or in a dormitory and there our father God, the one who gave us the
10 commandments in the Sinai Mountain, also guide us through all the Bible books in eternal and absolute values,
that never change and as the human being has been allowing to be transform or changed.
We have the results now, but getting back to your question. What must we do? If the dad instill absolute values,
the son would understand that not to steal is not to steal and the son would understand what means to honor his father and mother, so that all
can go well to him and in this world he can have a long life. That is a divine promise, don't allow that your father be
cursed by your mouth in the Old Testament under the law of Moses, it means death to the son that insulted
with a curse. Now I don't say that is a practice nowadays because the grace
en Jesus Christ came, the grace of forgiveness and to love but the promise continues, if the father honors his son, the son is
prospered and blessed, but we can see that the rebellion is manifested in the youth, because the absolute moral values
the virtues that the Lord wanted are not anymore. What values can we use? Let me give you an example
Mr. Velasquez, in the army of the United States, I have a certain proximity to the army of Guatemala,
I was chaplain of the Polytechnical School for many years and I realized that they handled absolute values as
how it should be. The United States army through the homosexual trend decreed something for convenience:
That if you are a homosexual soldier do not tell me, if I ask you I don't want to know it, I don't care
and so they allowed the homosexuality to enter in their army, they had all the manliness characteristics
they had the values that any army should have and suddenly they changed the parameters because they lost
the absolute value, for the relative value. Now you are witness from where all this trend
of homosexuality has come, I will tell you, there is not a single movie that doesn't have and maybe I am exaggerating, that doesn't
have an homosexual as a part of the everyday life.
We must base our values as stones that have to remain as they are, also there are two fundamental pillars
the moral and the ethics for the development of the human being. What is the role that you are playing in the personal,
familiar, national and institutional development of the country?
The man that has a spiritual strength, that has the power to accomplish all the things that has in his heart
dreams, desires, goals and all what is a benefit to our country
for the blessing of all Guatemalans life, for the blessing of everything else, if one don't have the support of his conscience and that is something that God
put as a signal that warns if something is not right and one knows, if we are acting against our
self conscience, the strength begins to vanish it is not the same strength we have when we are convinced
that what we do is good before God and before the man. Then that force is tremendous, what
we must want is to have : security, confidence, strength and there will come attacks and there will
come fights and there will come problems, but we will hold on in God because we have faith that what we are doing is good,
but when it is not at the firs attack, at the first circumstantial situation that comes against
the ideals that we are trying to achieve but in the bottom we are not convinced that we
are right in our ethics but we are a little twisted, we can be so weak, because in first place there is not
a backup from God and in second place there is not a backup from our self conscience and that is what
we have now, a multitude of manifestations of relativism what we call
double moral, if we do not change in our homes: the parents paying attention to their children, in the schools teaching
the transcendental values that will never change and stating in their hearts that it is worth to fight for the
eternal values, for the principles, the nations will be weak in a terrible relativity and
Guatemala is not an exception.
We see as fundamental that the values, the moral and the ethics must be unbreakable and if one knows what is right
as they say, knowing that some people are doing the things right, the faith moves mountains, well said.
We are going to a commercial break and then we will go on with Investment and Development.
We continue with Investment and Development and our special program of the 4 years of being on air, and is with us
the Reverend Dr. Luis Fernando Solares, it is important the Local Economic Development, we have
334 municipalities, with more than 33 thousand communities. What can we do so that the Economic Development,
the Social Development, the prosperity get to all this communities and what should be the role of the
Governors, of the District Congressmen and women, of the Mayors, of the community leaders, of the system of development councils,
of The Community Development Councils, of the Municipal Development Councils and the Departmental Development Councils?
To Expand all the good that they are doing, seeking that the individual development of each one of the citizens
could be reached, in their talents, in their abilities that come like a gift from
God. The majority of the humble men have not noticed that the Lord, the Creator, as in the Psalm 139
formed, his eternal word says he or she can be the
most humble man, the most ignorant of all, without exception the Bible says: He formed us in the womb of his
mother. But he adds something beautiful: He gave us talents and gave us abilities in such way that like the
the DNA, giving a medical example, in the human DNA, comes all the characteristics of the
I have a heritance from my grandfather and I'm a man like I am, but the Lord didn't make just that
the Lord created the human soul: the gifts, talents and habilities as it is in the material part,
the corporal part, it is in the spiritual part, God made the soul, the soul is given by God when the man discovers his
talents, his gifts, his abilities, in this moment the man understands his reality and can reach for happiness
putting in practice all for what God enabled him.
One of the faculties that you were talking, the positive leadership. How through it and through the society
we can transcend, to eradicate the conflicts, the confrontations, the divisionism, the violence for
Guatemala to develop as a prosper society and with peace?
We must teach that our nation needs progress and progress means change
of the traditional structures, changing the ways we call ancestrals.
When we have the difficulty that when we respect these things, these structures, we are unable to reach the potential
of all that town, of all that city, of development, of progress of being better but we simply are
attached to the traditions that have no major significance in the development that the man needs for the good of his or her
life and to change this, are needed people that by loving them and blessing them can convince them that they are
the ones that are stopping the future of their children but they can be the ones driving the future of their children that it depends on them
to take the correct perspective and they can make it happen
for the good of the ones coming after their loved ones. If we do not come out of all that traditions
we are going to stay in the same place, instead of searching for the good
that Guatemala needs, to make the nation that we all want.
Very important to retake that leadership, now Pastor there are two fundamental elements, Guatemala is a very young country
in all Latin America, 70% of the population are under the 30 years. What can we do to get back all the youth to believe
in those absolute values that you were talking about? How can we guide them in the good path?
But also there is a very determinant factor that is the woman, the women represent over the 51% of the Guatemalan population.
How can we give more opportunities to the women to enable them so they can help us to retake those absolute values in the
society and we could generate that the present population be better and the new generations retake
the paths of the absolute values?
Mr. Luis, I believe with all my heart that we need to get back to the reality that we have one God
that really exists, that truly loves us and that has a purpose for each life. The reason
why he did us all and it is in the Bible, in his book were written all those things
that later were formed in each human being. Let me explain it to you,
in the Psalm 139, the Lord says that he wrote a book about us, where we will do everything according to
our vocation, talents, gifts and abilities that he gave us, we would be happy doing the things he planned for us just like
the DNA, in the same way, here is the spiritual part, the part that we can't see and here is the physical part that
we can see. If we only believe that there is no one that exists in this world without God's purpose,
we all have a purpose and that purpose till we accomplish it all, doing it gives us joy to keep on doing our labor
working in what inspire us, maintaining our positive attitude, believing that
we have gifts and beautiful talents as a present from God and the phrase: "I ask you Lord that this pleases you" comes from your question
Engineer. What can we do? For our youth to regain hope, to have something to believe on
to have confidence that there is a better tomorrow and that the appearances are making us understand that the only way
in which the youth will understand, that if they know that they did not born randomly. They didn't born because it was not
planned and suddenly he is in this world. God says in His word, that he made every human being
and that each one has a part of Him, a plan to Carry on. That plan is for His Glory acknowledging in first place that
He is God and that without him we can't breathe, we cannot walk, we are nothing. Then if we reach to come back
to the belief that there is one truth and real God, I can assure you that the human life will transcend to what now
is considered as nothing, because anybody can kill the life that God created, without making any purpose
for which they were born for.
There is the role that we must play through the leaderships like yours, like ours, so that the
young people be channeled properly, for they are part of the present development of our country.
We will go to a commercial break and then we will continue with Investment and Development.
We continue with Investment and Development in our Special Program
of the 4 years of being on air, with the Reverend Dr. Fernando Solares.
Doctor how the churches that are social organizations contribute
and lead the people to walk in the Path of Development?
I mean the Social Development and the Economic Development that our country needs.
The churches proclaim the absolute truth , Jesus Christ said:
I am the truth and life, I am the way. No one comes to the Father except through me.
When in the churches we preach the absolute truth, we are helping
that man understand that: Without Gods support in our life, we will fail.
Could certainly make fun for a while of the Divine Law that says:
All that the man sows so shall he reap, don't be deceived.
God can't be mocked. That is the Divine Law. The man if you notice
is right now suffering his wrong decisions, in prison.
Is suffering for a while, all what he did knowing
that what he did was not correct. A bad decision.
He forgot that God can't be mocked and thought that
he could make of his own what was not, making easy wealth and things like those.
When in the churches we say that God is absolute, that He does not
make partiality , that whatever we sow, so we reap.
We make them be aware: That any evil act, will have a bad consequence
sooner or later but the consequences will come because God is righteous, but at the contrary
if we do what is right, with his blessing and approval God will bless us
sooner or later. Not at the fast way today we are used
to those ideas
of easy wealth, of what is not ethical and has no moral, and is not legal,
that makes the people be reach very fast, the problem is
that the people ignore what God is doing.
In the ignorance of his word, which says: The only wealth
that does not add sadness is the one that God gives and His word warns that the root
of all evil is the love for the money, our society is
induced to money consumerism, wealth, possessions and what happens?
We are spending more than what we earn.
What does that produce? Need for more money that when it comes
the offer of something such as: Corruption and drug trafficking something that is illegal
and gives us money, we assume that it is the solution to our problem
but it comes from dirty money and finally we are going to possess
but we have forgotten of something that the bible says: The fear of Jehovah
is the beginning of knowledge. If we don't fear the Lord and we believe
that we can fool God. Then the society is
in an endless tangle and even today we are reaping
everything that we have sown: Corruption, immorality, dissatisfaction,
lack of faith, lack of confidence in the future because it is not
on a solid foundation, but when we return to the vision and say
Lord forgive me, I don’t want to do this anymore, I shouldn't do it,
that doesn’t please you. In that moment
He approves it and bless our life and even though we don’t have money,
we have his blessing and that is:Delicious, beautiful and precious
I know very humble people that is so happy because they have been blessed by God,
there is harmony in their homes; peace in their hearts, there is joy in their souls,
there is faith in the future because it doesn’t depend in the circumstances.
It depends on de Lord but the man that doesn’t have the Lord in his heart,
if he doesn’t have money. What will happen with him? He put all his confidence in the money
and not in the Lord. If the man put all his confidence in the Lord
life would be beautiful and this is what we lack of, getting back
to what our grandparents did
getting back to those foundations, to those bases. Now Pastor, Guatemala
is a well known country, for its diversity of Natural Resources,
for the entrepreneur spirit of our people, very hard workers,
very noble people, is the most developed metropolis from Puebla in Mexico
to Bogota in Colombia, but because we are two countries in one, we can go 23 kilometers
to the south, to the north, to the west, to the east, and we start
to get to the rural area, where the 68% of the population lives, where we need
jobs, where we need people
to have hope and where there is poverty and extreme poverty. What should we
do all the actors of the society to bring
hope, a source of livelihood to these people, where 51%
of the children are malnourished? What must we do to
to reach prosperity and that Economic Development to get the most
of our Water Resources, of our Mining Resources, Petroleum Resources?
That blessing of the 369 micro climates that God gave us and all
that could be done to bring prosperity.
It is a very important question Engineer, if we don't live a moment
the life they live we will hardly be interested.
In the pastoral training, we have visited some of the most humble places of Guatemala,
I have cherished the delight of one meal that consists in what we call: boiled quilete that is a plant
and that is my lunch and I have seen them give it to me with such love
and gratitude and suddenly an egg that the chicken laid and this became the main dish
with which they bless me and I can see them and what I yearn for
is to bless them, how to help them, how to support them,
how to serve them, teach them, how to develop them,
how to be capable of changing their life. If our sensibility
is not awaked, sharing with them, participating with them.
We will not make any change.
We have to be more empathetic, more supportive. Dr. Solares
to conclude, I remember of an interview that we did to the
President Alvaro Uribe of Colombia, after the interview
we made, of which we were pleasantly surprised
my son Luis and I, I told him President if you could tell in 15 seconds
what has been your major accomplishment that you have achieved in Colombia?
Of all the problems that you have faced.
What would it be? Then he said: Luis father and Luis son the major challenge
that I had and that I have accomplished is giving back to the Colombians
the capacity of dreaming, the capacity of believing in themselves
that YES there are alternatives to go ahead. Making an analogy
with that message, you know very well our country, you know very well our communities,
you know the international context who is a person that serves God,
tries to take the message to all the amount of people as possible
to millions of people through your wonderful channel 27
that is transmitted by satellite, which has its own network of repeaters
at a national level. What is that message that you give to us Guatemalans
to all Latin America, to the Caribbean? That there is a way
to succeed, but we have to work on those values
to reach that prosperity that you have spoken of
that is very well explained in the bible.
My first vehicle, my first way of transport was a oxcart
I still remember, I was a child moving at the rhythm
of a oxcart
and we were heading to a river, the Blanco river in Teculután to take a bath.
I had an uncle named "Uncle Cheyo" taught me a lesson:
You can only reap what you have sown, he used to plant tomatoes
and he told me one day: Under the shadow of the mango tree, plant some tomatoes
and I planted it under the shadow of the mango tree meanwhile he came and went
with a thin ox plowing the ground to plant tomatoes.
When we were having our lunch he told me: Now son you saw that it wasn't so hard
to plant this. Wait that all that jewel, all the field
of tomatoes and I stayed there looking the piece of field that I had
planted under the shadow of the mango tree without any effort. He told me: son the life
Is like this, if you don't make an effort, do not fight, do not sweat
if you don't have dreams, hopes you won’t reap anything.
You need to sweap, work and make an effort, there isn't another way.
You will only achieve what you have sown as crop.
I can assure to all that are hearing me, that there is a law
infallible and it's the law "All that a man reaps is what he will sow".
You can be sure that there are no exceptions of person, anybody
that sows for good things will reap good things, anybody who sows
for his development, his growth to bless others,
will reap what he is sowing, maybe not instantly, no at the instant
but sooner or later his eyes will see it. God will not leave him
without a reward, my recommendation is "Never stop doing what is right".
Keep doing as how the Word of the Lord says. Don't get tired of doing
what is good because through the years we will reap
what we have planted.
Thats the way it is. Thank you very much Pastor for your encouraging words
and like the Bible says “Have I not commanded you to struggle
and be brave, don't be discouraged because Jehovah your Lord
will be with you wherever you go and having God
who against me”. Amen
Again Pastor thank you very much for sharing with us
these four years of being on air. Thank you for all those messages of hope
that you give to us. I am sure that this program will make us meditate
to achieve that Economic Development,
that Social Development, that Human Development but above all
a good foundation with a cornerstone about values
with the fear of God.
Every day we are more the Guatemalans and Latin Americans
committed with the development of our countries, with pleasure
we see that the youth and women are getting organized
each time in a better way to promote changes in the education,
in the housing issue, in the combat against delinquency in making the most
of that entrepreneur spirit, to generate better opportunities.
It is important to reinforce the values and the principles in the whole society
at all levels, for which we have to get involved as citizens
to strengthen institutions and to have a safer country
with more and better opportunities of development.
From all the team of Investment and Development program
we thank you for your messages and signs of appreciation, we confirm
our commitment to keep working with determination
with the purpose of promoting the necessary changes
to get a better Guatemala and Latin America, that we all
yearn for. To say where there are more opportunities
of Economic Development and Social Development. With sincere thanks
to the television stations for believing in a better country and
transmitting our program nationally and internationally.
We also appreciate and thank all our audience
national and international, to the millions of viewers who watch
our programs and of course to the Internet users
that visit our websites.
See you next week in an interesting program as the one of today.
