Greg Foot: Hey guys so this is the twelfth and final explanation video for the 12 Explosions
of Christmas. I'm Greg - Mike Sansom: and I'm Mike!
Greg: and I really hope you've enjoyed these so far. Right now we are utterly freezing
in a field. It's been an awesome day. Mike: It's been amazing, absolutely amazing.
Greg: So number twelve is an epic firework Christmas tree! Yes! And here it is and you
can see it, all silvery and covered in foil. So each of these here, these white sticks,
is a lance and on top is a little bit of gun powder. You ignite the gun powder at the top,
it burns down and it gives you a coloured flare, in the shape of a Christmas tree.
Mike: That's right and like we saw with the Christmas puddings, a different metal salt
creates different colours and this one hopefully will be green -- so barium salts.
Greg: Oh and we put some red ones, some strontium ones, right down the bottom for the stump
at the bottom of the tree. If you have seen, and I hope you very much have by now, our
whole 12 Explosions of Christmas video, you'll see there's a little cheeky finale as well
around this tree. You're the pyrotechnician, tell us about them!
Mike: so we've got some shells that are going to be bursting above us. The shells are three
inch, so they're quite small ones, but they've got a lot of punch, they've got a lot of powder
inside. So they're going to be propelled up into the sky like a cannon, and they're going
to go up to about 75 to 100 metres, and explode with a massive explosion and loads of colours.
Greg: So it's a full electronic firing system again. The first cue is gonna do the tree,
so it's gonna do the flares, then the second one is gonna do the gerbs at the top of there,
and then the third one is gonna fire the three inch shells back there! Should be the perfect
finale! We are very cold so we're going to get going, we always have to say don't try
this at home. We really hope you guys enjoyed it, have a very Merry Christmas!
Greg: That is the right finale for the twelve explosions of Christmas! I hope you guys have enjoyed it,
I hope you have a great Christmas!
