Hi! This is Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village and today we are
going to make a country garden wreath. For my country garden wreath, I was very fortunate
to find this wonderful little calendar in my local craft store that had all kinds of
pictures of gardens in it and it inspired me to make this wreath. What I did was to
start with my wreath and then you need to take something it helps if you have something
you can see through that is a bigger around than the center of your wreath. Place it over
your piece wherever you would like it and then you can trace around it with pen or even
take something that is sharp and just poke around the edges of it, then what you want
to do is to cut it out a little bit bigger than your wreath and place it in there and
see if you are happy with that. Do not glue it on yet. The next thing you are going to
want to do is to put your ribbon or twine through your wreath. I used this wonderful
twine and I doubled it and twisted it, so that it had more of a rope like effect. When
you put this through your wreath you want to start at the back, behind the joint, come
through to the front side, and pull it through. If you go around your wreath about one and
a half times you have plenty, but you can also leave it attached and just adjust as
you go. You want to weave in and out through your wreath with your ribbon and your twine
whatever it is that you are using all the way around until you get back to the beginning.
When you get back to the beginning, you are going to want to secure your ribbon, twine,
string whatever you are using on your wreath. So you come to a joint, lay a bead of glue
right in that joint and then hold your ribbon, twine, string until it is cool and clip it
off and then you put the other piece in to. Once you have completely surrounded your wreath
with your ribbon and your twine, you might want to again lay it down on your picture,
so you kind of have an idea and then for your embellishments you want to play with them
a little bit, put them around, get the balance that you want. I found these wonderful little
clay pots and so to make this little effect, I cut one in half just with my scissors and
put it on as you can see and then found some wonderful little artificial flowers to decorate
with and I also found some really nice little wood pieces to decorate. Put those around
and when you are satisfied with the decoration and the way you have it on your wreath, take
your hot glue, stick it on the back, put it on and it is secure. Then you want to make
a loop out of your twine or a ribbon, put that on the back, secure it and your wreath
is ready to hang and that is how I made my Country Garden Wreath.
