Hello, here we are again - Juliana and Wieland live from Amur river.
For Wieland time at Muraviovka Park is over now. With this video we want to show our last activities during August.
Four new students arrived at the Park to continue with the daily bird migration research.
We put up new nets, sued tape lure during night and ringed over 1000 birds out of 60 species.
Conditions have been hard. Heavy rainfalls made trapping impossible during many days and whole region was flooded by Amur river.
The water levels have been higher than in the past 100 years. The flood destroyed roads and villages.
Luckily, the Parks buildings have been safe.
Muraviovka Park was completely flooded, too. This happened before only 30 years ago.
Unfortunately our summer school had to be cancelled because of the bad conditions. But our project was continued,
and many interesting species have been ringed for the very first time - like the Grey Nightjar.
Our project will be continued until the end of October, and you will find all news in our blog.
Thank you for your interest in our project! All the best and good bye!
