some new numbers released by the bureau of labor statistics
and apparently
i was underestimating the pay gap so by you know how women typically make less
than men do
by always used the number eighty three cents
to the man's dollar for the same work
i misspoke that number is for african-americans for women
baby even less women make seventy cents for every dollar earned by a man for the
same work
so here are some of the professions that have been the worst pay gap
uh...
financial managers
women only make sixty five point nine percent
of what men make
so men make on any given week on average they make one thousand five hundred and
four dollars a woman will make nine hundred nineteen
one dollars
supervisors of housekeeping and janitorial workers would make sixty four
point six percent what men make
a woman's but paycheck for a given week will be four hundred six dollars
for a man would be seven hundred fifty six dollars
insurance sales agents women make sixty four point four percent what men make
so a woman is median paycheck would be six hundred sixty five dollars a man
should be one thousand eight thirty three dollars
property real estate and community association manager zone
woman only earn sixty point six percent of one of manners so the woman's median
weekly earnings would be seven hundred twenty eight dollars
the name of the one thousand two hundred and one dollars
there's all whole tremendous list of all of these different
fields where there's
the largest pay gap between men and women
so then the question is how do you address the problem
how do you make it so that you get equal pay for equal work
well it's very simple you pass what's called the paycheck fairness act
which would strengthen anti-discrimination laws and basically
levy heavy fines
on employers
who don't pay women equal wages
now the act actually was talk for a vote
not too long ago
in fact it was last year
ends it was filibuster by the republicans
stay classy republicans are all the democrats are asking for it is that
we can have people pay for equal work
what does it matter what your genitals or if you're doing
uh...
safar particular job does not need is your genitals
is that really unreasonable to ask equal pay for equal work but apparently uh...
were missing something here
because the republicans did filibuster
and just to put in perspective for you guys how big of a difference this makes
the gender wage gap cost the average woman more than four hundred and thirty
thousand dollars over who are working career that's enough money
to feed a family of four
for thirty seven years
damn
dan
dot these are some callous mother *** on the republican side man
gene i wonder if uh... the gender pay gap is something
maybe we should do something about act can't quite figure out
