Okay, I have this case to ship
and whenever I have these I try to find a box like this, they call them "BANKERS BOX"
I've recycled this one. They are great for shipping these kind of cases
I will first wrap a plastic bag around it
I usually use a garbage bag
falcons and
the Tall Kitchen kind!
These work very well
slip the case inside the bag
I like to wrap items in plastic as much as possible to help protect them from the elements
and then I will put my business card inside the bag
and a handwritten note
"THANK YOU"
ENJOY THE CASE!
Danna and add a Happy Face :-)
ok, so now I will tie this in a nice
knot
and now I'm just going to put a little bit of newspaper around the sides
Around each corner to add a little bit of padding
Let me adjust the camera a bit
(getting more newspaper from the garage)
Okay, adding some more newspaper
around the corners
Giving it more padding
This isn't a high breakable item so I am not real concerned
OK
and now I will put a bit on top to protect the handle
giving it some padding
will tape it in place
(looking for the tape)
taping the newspaper to stay in place over the handle
giving it a little extra padding
There we go
and
I will try to leave the box handles exposed so the mail carrier can use them if desired so I will not put tape over those holes on the side
(Loud Tape sounds) (My kids used to hate that noise and I used to tell them
That is the sound of MONEY)) (New shoes, new jeans = tape sounds) LOL
(more loud tape sounds aka Money sounds)
I do not want to cover up the hole handles
I will try to tuck them in a little bit
((cha-ching) $$$$$$
Tape usually sticks really well on these type of boxes
(($$$$)))
( $$$ )
(altough not too much money was made on this sale but it's okay)
(( tape sounds continue ))
okay and now I will put a bit of tape around the edges aka the bottom Seam of the lid
see how
I kind of push the edge in a bit with the tape
along the edge keeping it smooth
helping the box stay secure
I actually shipped items in a box like this years ago and I only put the tape around the lid edge and not around the entire box, the
items were lost so I've learned it's better to be safe and put the tape all the way around as well as along the lid seam so it will not pull off
any of the sides
I'm going to go around one more time
(( Tape Sounds ))
(( loud tape sounds )) There we go! Now we can weigh it
I will pull up the shipping lable on the computer, going to MY EBAY > Items ready to be shipped
I mean AWAITING SHIPMENT
go ahead and weigh the box
it's Five pounds, ten ounces so that is 6 pounds.
I sold this item on auction and it sold for only $12.50
and
I will click on COMPARE DELIVERY SERVICE
I will put in 6 pounds
always just round UP the weight
now if I ship this priority mail it will cost me $25.00
If I ship it Parcel post, it will cost around Eleven dollars
and since I have something already to go to FedEx let me check the shipping price using them
so, parcel post is $11.57
and I actually charged $8.00 for shipping. The person paid $8.00 so I didn't do free shipping
I charged a low amount so I will make SOME of my money back
I will lose about $4.00 vs the full amount of shipping if it had been free.
let me just double check and change the shipping to FedEx . So Parcel post was 11.57
let me just double check and change the shipping to FedEx . So Parcel post was 11.57
and FedEx is actually $15.00… Too much so I will go back to the parcel post rate
this package is going to Denver
and I will adjust the label to parcel post
this is a great thing about it on eBay, you can double check and compare FedEx with the USPS
to make your decision. So I will go with the $11.57 and I will DISPLAY the postage amount so the customer can see
that they got a great deal, they only paid eight dollars for shipping and it actually cost eleven dollars and fifty seven cents
CLICK Purchase Postage
luckily I only paid fifty cents for the case
print label
so I didn't make a huge profit, I did make a small profit but it was a risk that I was willing to take because these
suitcases or Train Cases usually sell really well
but this one didn't, could be timing or the color I think was not a high demand color, at least I sold it, made a few bucks and it will be out
of the house
Print that label and I will put it right there
PRINTING
from my handy dandy label printer
going to Denver
OH Denver Indiana
I didn't know there was a Denver in Indiana! Learn something new every day!
okay AND there you have it! Parcel Post, ready to ship
in a BANKERS BOX
