Alright, we're going to take the nib and we're going to insert it into the holder. Now there
different types of holders, I'll show you. Two an hour glass holder and a straight holder,
but they both work in the same way. They both securely grip the nib and hold it in place.
In order to get ink into the pen, we need to dip it, wipe the edge of the pen and take
a damping stroke. I usually keep a scrap of paper by my ink well so that I can damp the
ink. Now as I move the pen, you'll see how it works to get those beautiful thin and thick
strokes. And the pen does that automatically, like magic. I'll make an o so you can see
that. Oopps, out of ink. One of the things you'll need to get use to is the fact that
your pen is not constantly full of ink. So the process of dipping, wiping and damping
is going to become second nature to you, I hope after a little while.
