Ford launched this new Mondeo in Februari 2007.
There was a facelift in 2010, which should be halfway the life cycle.
However, economical developments screwed it up.
Ford still produces cars in Belgium in 2013, ...
but that factory will be closed. We'll have to wait for a new Mondeo.
You can get this type second-hand as well as brand-new.
A lot changed during its life cycle.
Engines got smaller, turbos and hp were added.
The Mondeo got safety features when they were still dating Volvo.
And LEDs, of course, for the daytime running lights.
750 are for offer on the second-hand market.
That's quite a lot. Most are station wagons.
This car offers a lot of space, but it's also large.
Fortunately, most have parking sensors, which makes it easier.
A lot of the cars have satnav.
Ford is known for good handling and the same goes for this Mondeo.
There are no exciting colors, though.
There's a lot of grey, silver, black and some red.
White is a pretty color as well.
The oldest of these Mondeos is 6 years, which you see in the prices.
Prices start at 7,000 euros, usually high miliage diesels.
The numbers get high. This second-hand car is expensive.
A Mondeo is sturdy, but when there are problems, it's the electronics.
The windows can open spontaniously. That's awkward when it's parked.
The Keyless Go won't work all the time.
Test the remote for the power door locks. Will it open and close?
A battery is easy to change, but the remote itself is more expensive.
Relays can act up, resulting in starting problems, ...
as well as the ground cable, so the battery won't charge.
All are small, fixable things, but keep them in mind.
Do check the rear bumper. Loading and unloading luggage may damage it.
It's painted, so here's a nice negotiation point.
You can ask the dealer to fix the scratches.
The Modeo isn't very fond of rain. The mirrors fog up quickly ...
and those built in the first year have water leaking through the doors.
There's a specific problem for those who live near a creek ...
or in frequiently flooded areas. The 2 liter TDCI has a low air intake, ...
through which water can enter the engine. That'll be the end of it.
Keep that in mind should you want to play park ranger ...
in your Mondeo station wagon.
This second-hand car is one of the most expensive ones.
35,000 euros give you quite a lot.
It has exclusive features like Xenon and a sunroof.
There's also full individual leather, selected specificaly for this color.
This car has all the features.
The 2.2 diesel is a nice, powerful engine with 197 hp.
There's an automatic transmission.
It's one of the few sedans. Most are station wagons or hatchbacks.
This car costs 35,000 euros.
You may think "wow", but the original price was 62,000 euros.
This may be the most expensive Mondeo in the Netherlands, ...
unless you can find a more expensive one.
