Hello my name is Philip Easton of Domino.
I'ld like to welcome you to the domino booth at Labelexpo 2013.
I am really pleased and excited to introduce to you our new High-speed version of the K600i digital ink jet print bar.
The K600i can be integrated into a range of other production equipment in order to provide a single colour digital solution that can be combined with convectional flexo printing.
So what we have here on the Labelexpo booth is a 333mm or 13î version of the K600i and we are printing QR codes that are used for marketing purposes.
The K600i can be used for a whole range of variable printing including numbering, barcodes and obviously 2D codes plus versioning.
So for example if you wanted to print a traditional print job for either packaging or label printing, you may want to print the languages using the K600i additional print bar.
We have installed in the market in excess of 100 of these solutions of the K600i.
The majority actually are mounted within existing conventional flexo presses.
But we also have them installed on things like label rewinders as we are showing here and also on sheet fed lines so it is a very versatile system for a whole range of applications.
The K600i normally would run 75m/min at 600x600 dpi, this high speed version is double that speed, so we can now run very high dense black printing at up to 150m/min, very much up to the speed of some of the fastest flexo machines.
For the K600i we have a number of unique features that are unique developments that in Domino we call i-Tech features or intelligent technology.
In the case of the K600i we have three of these that we brand as CleanCap, ActiFlow and StitchLink.
ActiFlow is a system, where by recirculating the ink within the print head which helps to remove the air bubbles within the print head which gives you much more consistent jetting performance and consistent print results.
In addition there is StitchLink.
StitchLink is the system we use for stitching together multiple print heads across a wider bar. So in the case of the K600i, our smaller system is 108mm wide, just over 4î.
Then we can stitch together print heads seamlessly for a continuous image printing up to over 21î or 445mm in order to create a seamless image.
Then our final feature which I will show you is CleanCap.
CleanCap is our automatic wiping and capping system, what this means is, we completely automate the maintenance process on the print head.
No longer is there a need for manual operator to wipe the head in order to maintain the nozzles.
And Iíll demonstrate this to you now.
So what we are seeing here is the print head coming out of the CleanCap position and moving in to the print position.
And then we are ready for printing.
We will start the printer up.
And this is variable data printing. We will shortly be running at about 75m/min.
All these 2D codes you are seeing here are completely unique.
So thatís the K600i, new version on the show is high speed or double the speed of the existing version.
Thank you very much for listening.
