Hello there it's Janelle
and today I'll be showing you
a Mickey Mouse inspired nail tutorial
You will need a black and white polish
a red and beige polish
a metallic silver and a silver glitter polish
a set of dotting tools
and you can find these for
under five dollars on Ebay and Amazon
and finally base and topcoat
first apply your basecoat to protect your nails
for your thumbnail paint your nail with red polish
and then using black polish
create a little half moon at the tips
with a dotting tool and white polish
make little button shapes
this represents the buttons on Mickey's pants
for your pointer finger paint
your nail with white polish
then apply black dots with a dotting tool
to create little Mickey heads
using a smaller dotting tool
make little mickey ears
I decided to rotate the heads a little
bit for a more dynamic Mickey print
for your middle finger
paint your entire nail using red polish
then with black polish
create a black circle sitting on
the tip of your nail
using a large dotting tool
create ears on the sides
you can stop here if you like
to make this look less difficult
or apply beige polish to create Mickey's face
drop your brush onto the nail
and brush down to create curved shapes
then do the same thing on
the sides to create Mickey's cheeks
so I made the tops a little too
small so to fix it I made them bigger
with two more strokes
using your trusty dotting tool
create Mickey's eyes and nose
using black polish
for your ring finger
apply one coat of silver metallic polish
I do this for all my glitter
accent nails because it makes the glitter
look more dense
let that dry and then apply
two coats of silver glitter on top
instead of leaving the nail as is
I decided to make one more Mickey
head in the center using a dotting tool
for your pinky finger
paint your nail using red polish
then apply white polka dots
using a small dotting tool
to seal your designs
apply topcoat
and now you're finished!
What if I want a different look?
here's our original Mickey
inspired color palette
replace red with pink and paint
in some polka dot bows for a
Minnie Mouse look
or go monochromatic for a look
inspired by Steamboat Willie
Mickey's 1928 cartoon debut!
that's it for my Mickey tutorial
