Hello, welcome to Mixer!
I’m Bengü, I live in Istanbul.
I’m the director of Mixer.
Let’s visit the gallery together.
Last night, we had an
opening of Berkay
Buğdanoğlu’s solo exhibition.
Today is the exhibition's first day.
As you can see behind, this work called Grigori is my favorite.
The artist uses big brands’ advertising boards in his works.
He treats these boards with
chemical applications and paints it.
These works you see here
generally have the same process.
Also, we have Open Space where creations
from various artists are exhibited.
Breakfast is the most important meal for us. Like Turkish poet Cemal Süreyya,
I also think that breakfast is related to happiness.
- Thanks.
- Cheers ! - Cheers !
Tea is essential for breakfast.
Normally, it is consumed in a slender glass.
Now that we’re having a long-lasting
breakfast, we need a huge cup of tea.
Eating just because you’re hungry
shouldn’t be the goal of breakfast.
Actually what matters most is the process :
the time you spend with friends.
Honey-clotted cream, tomato,
pepper, various cheese,
green and black olives,
çökelek and various jam
are necessary for a breakfast.
Also bread; nutty bread,
muffin, pişi…
They enhance the feast.
I’m so hungry. Let’s stop talking and eat!
I like travelling, especially meeting new cultures and new people.
The thing I hate most about travelling is getting visa.
As a Turkish citizen, you should always determine where to go beforehand.
I like being spontaneous, but if you go to another continent via Europe,
you should prove your return date,
the flight company and your financial account.
Otherwise, you cannot travel...
If there wasn’t any visa restriction, I could travel wherever and whenever I want.
I wish there were no visas.
But it’s not an obstacle for me. I need to explore the world.
