JOHN CARSTARPHEN: Hi, this is John Carstarphen for Expert Village. And let's just take a
quick look at that. We're going to render a small section of the cobblestone street
here.
And so we're pretty close on the street, and you can see that there's no distortion. There's
no stretching. There's no warping. All the stones are lined up in perspective. Now, if
we were to add a photograph to this same plane--and
this looks okay. But if you were to move the camera much closer than this, you'd start
to see some real distortion and warping and stretching. In fact, let's go ahead and do
that. And you could begin to see it right here. The bricks are stretched out; they're
elongated. They look okay up here. But as we get closer to the camera, the distortion
really comes into play. You don't get that with the shader.
